Working principle of BlueLight thermal fuse
A thermal fuse, also known as a thermal cutoff device, is a temperature-sensitive circuit-breaking component that serves as a safety safeguard during equipment operation. When abnormal operating conditions cause excessive overheating, the thermal fuse trips, thereby opening the circuit to prevent further malfunctions or potential fires. It is commonly used in applications such as lighting—e.g., lamps; household appliances—including hair dryers, irons, rice cookers, electric stoves, water dispensers, and coffee makers; and industrial equipment—such as transformers and electric motors. Once activated, a thermal fuse cannot be reused; it operates only once at its designated melting temperature to interrupt the circuit and cannot be reset.

Essential things to know about fuses
A fuse is designed to self-destruct and blow when a circuit experiences a large surge or other overcurrent condition; this serves to protect the integrity of other components and equipment in the circuit. Compared with the cost of replacing an entire circuit that may have been damaged, the expense of replacing a single fuse is negligible. Given that fuses are common, frequently replaced components, we present two essential pieces of basic knowledge here; for a more in-depth discussion of fuse applications as well as testing and diagnostic methods, please refer to the relevant articles on this website.
Notice on the Implementation of the New Certification Rules and Standards for Small Fuses
The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) recently issued the new version of the Implementation Rules for Small Fuses, CQC11-462125-2018, “Safety Certification Rules for Small Fuses.” The application categories for products that comply with these rules include:
BlueLight ultra-small miniature fuse (8*4*5mm) has obtained UL and CCC certifications.
Micro fuses available on the market are generally plastic-encased fuses, typically in 8.5*8mm round or 8.5*8*4mm square formats. BlueLight Electronic aims to meet the needs of more customers.

Test Method for Thermal Fuses
Connect the two leads of the test sample to the clamps of the testing equipment, and apply a test current of approximately 10 milliamperes (with a maximum not exceeding 100 milliamperes), using an LED to indicate the presence of the test current.
